SPARE in Uzbekistan


In Uzbekistan the Association of children clubs (ADEK) has implemented SPARE since 2001; with help from the Ecological club Eremurus. ADEK has spread the project to schools in all counties of the country. ADEK has established a good cooperation with Center of retraining of teachers on national and regional level, and is by this training around 250 teachers in sustainable energy and climate every year. ADEK and Eremurus is also implementing window restoration projects.

"Climate is changing. And we? " - summer ecological school in Uzbekistan

Summer ecological school on SPARE program took place from June 27 to July 1, 2011 in the recreation area Charvak, located on the shores of deep water reservoir in Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region (about 100 km from Tashkent).





Annual International SPARE seminar–2011

International seminar and annual coordination meeting, devoted to the SPARE development in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia took place 27-29 of May in Ukraine. Participants discussed development of educational materials for schoolchildren, domestic practical project on renewable energy and energy efficiency, NGO capacity building and involvement to national energy policy.


Sunday environmental school was opened in Tashkent

On January 16, 2011 fourteen children ages six to eleven and their parents became students of SPARE Sunday environmental school. It was organized by “Contact” NGO, Environmental Club “Eremurus” and Youth Environmental Network of Uzbekistan in cooperation with Public Center for Child Development “YULDUZCHA” and “Nakkashlik” mahalle of Chilonzor district of Tashkent.

Charity event for the students of the boarding school 79 in Tashkent region

On September 8, 2010 a charity event for students of the boarding school 79in Pskensk district of Tashkent region took place. The event was organized by volunteers from various Tashkent public organizations as well as activists of the Youth Environmental Network in Uzbekistan. During the event a seminar on the SPARE was held.

SPARE International workshop took place in Belarus

On May 28th to 31st an international semonar on the development of the SPARE project took place in Minsk. An important theme of the workshop was the integration of SPARE project into the state education systems in the participants’ countries, as well as practical solutions for energy saving. Participants visited a straw house and a multistory house that was built with energy-saving technologies and was recommended as a model for construction in Belarus.

SPARE conference on energy and climate in the EECCA region.

Norges Naturvernforbund/Friends of the Earth Norway has for several years cooperated with NGO partners in EECCA region on education, practical projects and policy development around energy and climate issues. We have now got the possibility to invite most of our NGO cooperation partners to Oslo, and on the 3rd of June we use the opportunity to arrange a conference on energy and climate in the Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia (EECCA-region).

International day of energy saving in Uzbekistan

On the 11th of November in Uzbekistan the SPARE international energy saving day was celebrated in 18 schools and 191 participants in the clubs passed about the classes and described to students about the program, the anthropogenic environmental effect, about global climate change and the program SPARE.



International SPARE meeting in Karaganda 25th-27th of April 2008

SPARE coordinators from 11 countries have in the end of April been gathered for international SPARE meeting in Karaganda, Kazakhstan. The coordinators have been discussing results and development of educational and practical energy activities. The activity of SPARE is higher than ever, with 3 000 schools and 150 000 pupils participating in the project during the educational year 2007-2008.
