
The organisation Little Earth (former For the Earth) has implemented SPARE in Tajikistan since 2001. Little Earth has during the past years also developed practical projects and expertise within energy efficiency and renewable energy. Focus has been on insulation of school buildings, energy efficient greenhouses and comprehensive planning processes for sustainable energy in villages. As partner in FK Norway project Little Earth is also hosting a Nepalese expert who is training locals on how to build efficient stoves.

Energy efficiency of buildings – new start?
Round table participantsOfficials, private sector representatives and members of non-governmental organizations discussed why buildings in Tajikistan still haven’t met modern standards of energy efficiency. 29th of July 2011 «Energy efficiency of buildings» round table took place in Dushanbe.
Annual International SPARE seminar–2011
International seminar and annual coordination meeting, devoted to the SPARE development in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia took place 27-29 of May in Ukraine. Participants discussed development of educational materials for schoolchildren, domestic practical project on renewable energy and energy efficiency, NGO capacity building and involvement to national energy policy.
Residents of neighboring villages became interested in a greenhouse in Roshorv
The solar greenhouse was built in Roshorv village in Rushan district of Gorno-Badakhshan autonomous region of Tajikistan in September - November 2010. Residents of neighboring villages who heard about its unusual properties visit the greenhouse increasingly.
Seminar on Energy Saving in Darai Bedo, Tajikistan

On April 24, 2010 a seminar on energy saving organized by the environmental organization “Little Earth” took place in the village Darai Bedo in jamoat Chorbog. Presentations on solar energy, building solar greenhouses and improved stoves for cooking were presented for the workshop participants. The participants were particularly interested in the report on the work of the Rural Energy Board which was established in the village Choryakorroni Dara.
SPARE at the conference "Tunza" in Stavanger, Norway

From 1st to 5th June 2010 in Stavanger, Norway took place the International Environmental Children Conference "Tunza". The event was organized by the Norwegian NGO Young Agenda with support from the UN Environment Programme. The conference was held under the motto "What is the energy?"
SPARE International workshop took place in Belarus

On May 28th to 31st an international semonar on the development of the SPARE project took place in Minsk. An important theme of the workshop was the integration of SPARE project into the state education systems in the participants’ countries, as well as practical solutions for energy saving. Participants visited a straw house and a multistory house that was built with energy-saving technologies and was recommended as a model for construction in Belarus.
Seminar on ICS stoves in Khusravi district of Tajikistan

A practical seminar on energy saving cooking stoves was held in Nosiri village of Khusravi district on January 2010. The event was organized by “Little Earth” environmental organization with the help from Norwegian Society for Nature Conservation. The main task of the practical training was to demonstrate new and more advanced clay stoves constructions for cooking.

Norges Naturvernforbund/Friends of the Earth Norway has for several years cooperated with NGO partners in EECCA region on education, practical projects and policy development around energy and climate issues. We have now got the possibility to invite most of our NGO cooperation partners to Oslo, and on the 3rd of June we use the opportunity to arrange a conference on energy and climate in the Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia (EECCA-region).
The “Little Earth” has drawn closer to the Sun

The Little Earth, an environment organization which is implementing a program on energy conservation and renewable energy sources has decided to set an example of utilizing the solar energy. Last week the Little Earth staff finished installation of solar panels that will supply their office with energy in case of power outages.

ICS - Start up workshop

SPARE made contacts at the VI Environmental Ministerial Conference of Easter Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia (EECCA).
The Sixth Ministerial Conference "Environment for Europe" (EfE) was held in Belgrade (Serbia) from 10 to 12 October 2007. SPARE participated with exhibition stand, presented by SPARE team, including Norwegian Society for Conservation of Nature, BIOM (Kyrgyzstan), For the Earth (Tajikistan), Friends of the Baltic (Russia), Eco-vision (Georgia).
