On the 6th of September in St.Petersburg Ecocentrum Friends of the Baltic announced the calendar of SPARE events to teachers and discussed project development in the coming school year. More than 90 schools of St.Petersburg and Leningrad oblast participate in various SPARE events — competition, Energy Saving Day, practical actions.

The new competition of school energy projects «Energy and Environment» is about to start and both teachers and schoolchildren are invited to participate. Julia Klippert (SPARE org-committee) and Nadezhda Bystrova (regional SPARE co-coordinator) shared their experience of the last years competition works and spoke about possible competition project ideas, simple solutions for schools and homes, which can be developed in the competition projects.
Teachers were invited to join the Energy Saving Day, they got methodic materials for organizing the day of 11.11.11, got to know about examples of how this Day was organized in different regions last years.
Friends of the Baltic suggest that teachers get more information and methodic skills for competition and other SPARE work at the training, which will be organized on the 11th of October.
Friends of the Baltic also announced the educational programs on the base of Ecocentrum — exhibition of environmental friendly solutions. FoB provides thematic trainings and special lessons on climate change, energy saving, renewable and other green solutions for schoolchildren of different ages, students, teachers and other interested groups.
