The poster competition devoted to Energy Saving Day held in the School № 962,((Moscow, Lecturer PhD V. Karagashkin)Russia is the coldest country on the planet. And Moscow is one of the three coldest capitals in the World! In addition, in 2009 Dmitry Medvedev was the first in the history of modern Russia who raised the question of the need to save energy at every level. That’s why, many educational institutions of Moscow with great enthusiasm began to participate in the program SPARE. In October 2010, many teachers, pupils and students were happy to receive posters, books and guidelines: how interesting and effectively they can hold «Energy Saving Day.»
Members of the NGO Viola had a lot of preparatory work: these were personal meetings, telephone counseling and the Internet, joint training activities. For many schools the day of 10.10.2010 — was the first step in their work in SPARE program.
NGO «Viola» helped to conduct «Energy saving lesson » in 12 schools, 5 colleges, 9 universities. These were trips to energy facilities, monitoring of buildings, art promotion for districts, seminars, business games, poster competitions.

E. Zhukova (a member of the NGO Viola) demonstrates the possibility to save energy, if you slide open the dense dark curtains in the daytime and change common light bulbs for energy-saving.
Students of Russian Mendeleev Chemical-Technological University prepared and helded the lectures devoted to the actual energy savings at the university and the hostel (conducted by PhD Kolesova E.)
After these events members of the «Viola» helped pupils, students, teachers todevelop plans for the use of new energy-saving technologies, audit of energy consumption, drawing energy passport of educational institutions, adoption of energy-saving technologies
The help of SPARE programs was particularly urgent in those schools in Moscow, where a new subject — «Foundation of energy saving» was adopted
Students from 4 ’A’ class and their favorite teacher Smirnova M. (Moscow, School № 819) conducted a tour to the local thermal power plant and organized an art event for inhabitants of the district.
