In St. Petersburg Ecocentrum on April 9 representatives of SPARE org-commettee and Friends of the Baltic NGO met specialists of energy supply company Petroelectrosbyt. Energy service companies are planning to open an educational center for the conservation of electricity in the houses. This is a step towards the implementation of Federal Law «On energy saving ..», adopted in 2009. Forms of cooperation in education for schoolchildren and housing associations was discussed at the meetings.
Petroeletkrosbyt was presented at the meeting by the heads of the energy saving department training division. Petroelectrosbyt prepares for the opening of a regional educational center, which will show in an interactive way how to save electricity in the residential apartment, house, office, exterior lighting. They prepare an interactive computer game for children on the theme of energy saving in the apartment.
At the beginning of 2010 Russian President Dmitry Medvedev met with the governors in Khanty Mansiysk, where he noted that despite the adoption of Energy Conservation Act, only 12 of the 83 subjects of the Federation began action on energy efficiency. In this regard, in many regions of Russia power sales companies were ordered to start work in this direction.
An estimated reserves of electricity savings in the residential sector at 30%. Among tools for economy are infra-red lights sensors, and energy-saving lamps. Russia stated that in 2014, will cease production of incandescent bulbs. Unfortunately, for energy-saving lamps, which are already widespread in the country, there is no system of recycling. And the next generation — LED lamps — still are not available on the Russian market. Representatives of Petroelektrosbyt stated that developing their educational center, they learned all available SPARE materials, textbook, educational films and CD and used a lot. The meeting resulted in agreement on interaction — placing information about the project SPARE in the educational center of Petroelektrosbyt, as well as possible interactions in the competition «Energy and Environment».
