Many schools are actively joining in the CFD school project SPARE. Therefore, the proposal of NGO «Viola» about «Energy Saving Month was accepted by more than 150 schools. In the end of October 2010 all these schools received books, posters and guidelines of the „Month“ in the » NGO Viola SPARE-Centre«. Members of the «Viola» helped each school to brainstorm and create their own program of action. More than 30,000 students participated in this movement to save energy at home, at school, in districts. Each school began the replacing of common light bulbs by energy-saving lamps, made an energy saving corner and gave «memos» to parents with the addresses of the firms taking light bulbs. Each school conducted an internal monitoring and decided how it’s better to insulate the building during the winter, how to use special programs in energy saving in classroom equipment.
Children’s painting, project competitions and popularization of information were held in many districts. More than 150 directors and head teachers of Kursk and Bryansk regions took part in a series of teaching conferences where an exemplary SPARE school- (Gymnasium № 1 of Bryansk district) showed modern, innovative technologies and methods allowing to increase interest among students towards this activity. It is that we call the international climate and energy saving activity with the biologists from America and Australia; Skype teleconference with students from Bulgaria, Latvia, the collaboration in writing of articles in newspapers, magazines, compilations, the Small Science Academy in high schools, and many others. The members of the NGO Viola, who have been trained on the organization of the youth movement «To protect the climate!» in Turkey, Belgium, France, Moscow, shared experiences and information.
Now all the participants of the «Month» know what «350» is, «The CO2 excess, the dates 10/10/2010 and 11/11/2010. Every participant of the «Month of ...» begin to learn how to save energy in any situation. Many people made their first steps in this direction.
