29 of October in St.Petersburg Friends of the Baltic NGO have organized Festival of Youth Environmental Projects and Initiatives, where SPARE schoolchildren presented their creativity works on climate change, energy and resource saving. Festival was supported by Committee for Youth Policy and Public Organizations of St.Petersburg Government, Norwegian Society for Conservation of Nature, and Municipality “Sennoy Okrug”.
Festival was a final event of inter-regional competition, where practical projects, research projects, models, posters, leaflets, essay and drawings, devoted to sustainable development participated.
Within the Festival the big exhibition presented hundreds of youth projects and creativity works. At the exhibition works were presented of climate change in Polar Regions, researches on wasteful energy consumption in everyday life, practical projects on possibilities to reduce energy consumption by rational behavior, “green” consumer choice, avoiding extra-packages, recycling and reuse of recourses.
Festival was organized in cooperation with Research Centre for Environmental Safety of Russian Academy of Science, Russian Hydro-meteorology University, University of High-Precision Mechanics and Optics, and St.Petersburg State University.
