On February 16-17, 2009 in the Small Academy of Science’s National Environmental Naturalistic Center for Schoolchildren the IV Ukrainian Final Round of the International Youth Contest for energy effective projects “ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT” will take place. The Contest’s slogan is: “We can reduce the greenhouse gas emission”. The Contest’s results will be announced in the Kyoto Protocol’s anniversary day. The Contest aims to engage talented Ukrainian schoolchildren, students and teachers in scientific and practical activities related to energy efficiency and climate change mitigation.
The Contest is a talent search among youth from 18 countries. In Ukraine it’s being organized by National Coordinator of SPARE and under support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Fuel, Energy Atomic policy and safety Committee of the Verhovna Rada of Ukraine, United Nations Development Programme, and National Agency of Ukraine for rational use of energy resources.
The Contest’s peculiarity consists is the fact that children defend their thesis and projects in front of qualified jury, demonstrating working models, technical and economic figures etc.

Being a socially responsible company caring of the Earth Danfoss Ltd. has founded a special nomination “The role of radiator’s thermoregulator in energy saving” aiming to attract children’s and their parents’ attention to the existing possibilities of energy saving and house heat comfort improvement.
