SPARE international energy saving day started on November 10 at AARHUS Center Georgia, at Georgia Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources. Representatives from AARHUS Center Georgia, OSCE mission to Georgia, Private Company WoodService (WS), Tbilisi State University, Georgia Green Movement, NGO EcoVision, Tbilisi and Gori SPARE schools were among the organizers and participants of the event.
Aarhus Center Georgia and OSCE mission to Georgia organized common trainings on teaching energy saving issues in the schools, from 10th to 14th of November. More then 200 teachers from 75 Tbilisi schools attended the trainings. Most of school representatives showed interest in registering on SPARE website in order to have possibility to work with foreign schools and implement common projects.
Two-day seminar on the same issues was organized in parallel by OSCE mission to Georgia, AARHUS Center Georgia and NGO EcoVision in Gori.
International seminar on alternative energy and energy saving was organized by Georgia Green Movement, Friends of the Earth and Women in Europe for Common Future (WECF) on November 14th. More than 40 representatives from different local and international organizations (Germany and Netherlands) attended the seminar. The seminar was dedicated to application and introduction on energy efficient technologies and renewable energy in the South Caucasus region. Best practices from Germany and Netherlands was discussed at the seminar. The decision was sent to the Ministries. Continuation of the seminar was tree-day training for local administration officers in Khoni district on 10th to 13th of November.
The meeting on Sustainable Habitat and Energy Efficient House was organized by private company Wservice (Wood Service) on 11th November in Georgian capital Tbilisi. About 60 participants from international organizations and ministries attended the meeting. The importance of the public awareness on of energy efficiency principles in the construction was emphasized many times.
