Some 45 schools teachers participated at the seminar of different specialities, as well as the representatives of the schools administration. The seminar was carried out by the national coordinator of project SPARE in Ukraine with the organizational support of the Sevastopol Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Participants in the seminar were introduced to the various forms and methods of the training work with the children on the energy saving and development.
The ideas were proposed the teachers of Sevastopol, from the environmental club “Eremurus” in Ukraine and to teachers from the different SPARE participating countries.
The quality of education is in many respects determined the very motivation of the teacher himself to participate in the training. Participants in the seminar showed the great interest in the instruction of children when it comes to the economical utilization of resources and energy and are certain that the basis of their motivation lies not only in the economic benefit, but most of all in the intentions to preserve the environment.
Renewed energy sources. Biomass. How it is formed, what basic Earth process contributes to what energy is initial and is transferred from one component to the next? This can be introduced to children through the well known exercises in the lectures of ecology and environment.
The solar energy is transferred through all components of food chain. “The famous” solar bottle. How to heat the contents by the sun and how to conserve the heat? How to show children that the solar energy that helps the people in food production can become the source of large misfortune - greenhouse effect?
Whose garbage is more useful? Remarkable exercises proposed to project SPARE by Kazakh teachers and with the pleasure carries out by their Ukrainian associates.
The solution is to be found at the point of participants in the seminar how complicated this must be - to organize the daily actions, which can help reduce the climate change on the Earth! The exercise “my contribution by reduction by 1 degree Celsius” is carried out, and proposed by the environmental club “Eremurus” Uzbekistan.
