SPARE in Kazakhstan


Responsible for SPARE in Kazakhstan is the organisation”EcoObraz” (Center for coordination and information on ecological education). EcoObraz has implemented SPARE in Kazakhstan since 2001, and is working in all regions and is covering more than 100 000 pupils with the project. EcoObraz has had particular focus on windows restoration. They have implemented several pilot projects within this field, and is currently working with more practical projects and with promotion of windows restoration toward national authorities, donors and other relevant organisations.

International SPARE meeting in Karaganda 25th-27th of April 2008

SPARE coordinators from 11 countries have in the end of April been gathered for international SPARE meeting in Karaganda, Kazakhstan. The coordinators have been discussing results and development of educational and practical energy activities. The activity of SPARE is higher than ever, with 3 000 schools and 150 000 pupils participating in the project during the educational year 2007-2008.
