The International SPARE day of energy efficiency was celebrated in the Bulgarian schools of the network with many activities. We received a lot of information about the events and we would like to share it with all participants in SPARE.
In "P.R.Slavejkov", Varna a lesson on the topic "Saving energy" was held by the physics teacher Stanimira Slavova. During the lesson the students used the SPARE student's handbooks and discussed different ways of saving energy at home and at school. They also developed "Manual for saving energy at school ", they did inquiry in their families, played role games, made presentation and posters which they posted in the corridors of the school.

Students from the school are working on different ecological topics: solar energy, wind energy, energy efficient light bulbs, alternative energy resourses, etc.
In the school "P. Evtimij", Plovdiv the students organized an action for recycling and they gave out flyers to the citizens of the town, persuading them about the benefits of energy saving and recycling.
They also made an exhibition of posters and paintings in the school.
At the end of the month trees will be planted in the school yard.
In "P. Yavorov", Varna the students from club "Ecology" created the leaflet "The saving of energy depends on me too" and Ana Borisova from 7th grade made a presentation " How to use correctly the electric energy".

Students and teachers from the Vocational technical highschool " Sh. Petyofi" sent us a presentation about the mini-photovoltaic system that they created. It is a very useful and practical project that would lead to improving the energy efficiency in the school bulding.
The students from club "Ecology" in "Hristo Botev" school , Stozher created an exhibition with the guidance of their teachers Parashkeva Stamenova and Ivanka Petrova. Discussions on the topics like global warming and alternative energy took place during the classes.
The younger students were active in the topics recycling and energy consumption.
Recycling in Plovdiv
Planting trees in the school yard, Pirdop
In "Savo Savov" school, Pirdop a whole week of energy saving was announced. The students made posters, planted trees and cleaned the school yard. On 15th November the teachers and the students commuted to the school on bicycles. The following days a lot of paper was 
"School of the future", Orlyakgiven for recycling and the collected money would be spent for bicycle ramps. The collected paper was 2839 kg!
All the activities were implemented under the guidance of the teachers Antoaneta Dimitrowa and Donka Chardakova.
In "Sv. sv. Kiril and Metodij", Balgarsko Slivovo the day was calebrated through presentations and video clips on "Why we should save energy", presented to the students of the school.
In Kubrat, 'Hr. Botev" school the students were actively involved in the celebration of the day - they distributed a leaflet among 500 other students with practical advices on energy saving. They also prepared a presentation which was presented afterwards by the teachers in front of 19 classes of students from 5th to 12th grade.
The students of club "Ecoenergy" at "J. Jovkov" school, Kavarna held a competition for posters "Save energy", they created a logo and organized a seminar amongst the 7th graders. On 10th November the club addressed the citizens of the town through the local cable TV urging them to save energy and sharing with them practical measures.
The students of the Vocational school for agricultural technologies in Pavlikeni made presentations and leaflets.
The students from "Vassil Drumev", Orlyak prepared many activities to attract the attention towards the issue of energy efficiency. They did an observation of the energy consumption in the school. A questionary was distributed amonst 94 students and the results were summarized. Atrip was organized for the visit of a close site where 
"The balance in nature", Slivenwind mills will be installed soon. It was followed by a debate "For and Against the wind energy". A project for photovoltaic park that will be build close to Tervel was presented.
In the classes of the 6th and 7th graders a lesson "Ecological building" took place. Exhibition of paintings and models "The school of the future".
In the Vocational School Building for building and geodesy, Sliven a ecological party was organized after the school classes. Prezentations and videos were shown about the architecture and design of the passive houses. Students and teachers played the game "The balance in nature" which took a prize in the SPARE competition for 2009/2010.
