Young ambassador mention that the world needed youth contribution right now

The international youth conference — «Youth for Ecological Progress» — was held on 11-12th of November 2010 in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Almost 100 young people, students, researches, ministry representatives and academicians from 20 countries were attended on this event. The international conference organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan with supported UNICEF.

The main purposes of the conference is stimulate innovative thinking and youth participation — young scholars, experts, businessmen, representatives of public organizations, mass media — not only in the resolution of nature-conservation issues, but also in the construction of innovative economy, which could consider ecological challenges of new century, as well as encourage the realization of the right of sustainable development and healthy environment with the adherence to economical and social interests.
The International SPARE project `s teams were attended in this conference and during the official opening ceremony the project presented by Rufat Dargahli, the active participant of the SPARE project and Young Ambassador on Environment. In his speech young ambassador mention that using energy resources inefficiency way is one of the main challenges and it polluted the environment quite enough. «Last 3 year I have cooperated with the International SPARE project, this project teaches me to love and care the nature in my daily life. Joining the practical workshops I understood that it is possible to save the earth applying simple energy activities.
SPARE gives me chance to feel that my participation is important in local and international movement. Now I am a young ambassador and I think that the earth needed my and yours contribution right now. We should be active actors of increasing awareness among people for protection of environment! Let’s don’t forget that nature protects us and we should protect the nature as well!», he said.
Deputy Director of the Global Monitoring Division of USA Dr. Russ C.Schnell was very exiting of young ambassador speech. He said: «I am very happy that there is young person who is interesting and active to protect our planet». Dr. Schnell presented the world map ball to his young friend as a symbol of the future cooperation.
At the end of conference the participants decided to establish network of environment organizations and develop the action plan for next year. The main aim of the network is increase the youth activities on environment issue and to support young experts to provide researches on this field.
